Topic:            An Ordinance Amending Subsection 16-6(24) of the Code of Fauquier County to Authorize the Parks and Recreation Board to Grant Exceptions to the Prohibition Against Bringing Animals, Wildlife, or Birds into a Public Park

The Parks and Recreation Board has suggested that the County Ordinance prohibiting patrons from bringing into parks any animal (with the exception of dogs and domesticated cats), wildlife, reptile, or birds be modified.  The modification would allow such prohibited animals in the park, upon the specific prior approval of the Parks and Recreation Board.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors

Conduct a public hearing to receive citizen comment on the proposed ordinance amendment.

Fiscal Impact:

There is no specific financial impact associated with this modification of Park rules.
