A Resolution to Award to
Tren Construction the Construction Contract for the Assay
Office and Bunk House at Monroe Park |
|
Topic Description: |
|
On May 25, 2006, three bids
were received for the construction of the Assay Office and
Bunk House structures at the Gold Mining Camp Museum at
Monroe Park. The low bid, in the amount of $387,632, was
submitted by Tren Construction. The Facilities Planning and
Implementation Committee has approved the plans for these
structures as has the Bids and Contracts Committee of the
Parks and Recreation Board. The Bids and Contracts
Committee is also recommending the award of this contract
but, due to the timing of the Board meetings, the full Parks
and Recreation Board will not be able to consider action
until its meeting on June 7, 2006.

|
Requested Action of the
Board of Supervisors:
|
|
Consider adoption of the
attached resolution. |
|
Financial Impacts Analysis: |
|
The proposed contract amount
is within the budget allocated for Phase III work at the
Museum. Allowances for construction management,
contingency, and testing exist within the remaining funds.
Funding for the actual exhibits will, however, be less than
originally anticipated.
