Topic: 

A Resolution Directing the County Administrator to Schedule a Public Hearing on a Proposed Underground Fiber Optic Cable Easement to Fiberlight of Virginia, LLC

Topic Description:

Fiberlight of Virginia, LLC has requested that the Board of Supervisors grant it an underground easement along the road frontage of property owned by the Board of Supervisors on Rougues Road in Cedar Run Magisterial District, said property being designated as PIN 7900-40-8840.  The property fronts on Rougues Road and was previously purchased by the County as a buffer for the airport.  The fiber optic lines to be installed are to be used a Federal government entity and the easement will require the owner of the easement to secure the Board’s written consent before it grants any commercial entity the right to use the fiber optic cable.  The resolution if adopted directs the County Administrator to schedule the required public hearing on the proposed grant of the easement.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
