Friends of the Fauquier Library
Related library policies:
Friends of the Fauquier Library believe that the strength of a library lies not only in its collection of books and materials but also in its programs and services. Friends also believe that libraries are for everyone -all ages, income levels, and all neighborhoods and geographic regions of the community. Friends work to increase the level of support the library receives from private sources, principally from citizens who appreciate the privileges of a great library.
What do Friends do?
Friends provide special programs and services that expand and enrich the library's regular budget through membership dues, fundraisers and proceeds from book sales. These "extras" include special events such as author visits, guest story tellers, the summer reading programs and other cultural events for children, teens and adults. Friends also provide funding for items such as equipment and furniture. For more information about Friends, call Denise Johnson, (540) 439-1939.
Why join the Friends?
Your gift to Friends of the Fauquier Library will show that you too believe in the value of libraries and will help the library achieve the excellence to which it aspires. In addition to supporting Friends' efforts through membership dues, many people are needed to make special library programs possible. Volunteers are needed for publicity, hospitality, fund raising, The Book Cellar and more. To volunteer, please call Denise Johnson, (540) 439-1939.
