PROCLAMATION A PROCLAMATION HONORING THE PLAINS VOLUNTEER FIRE AND RESCUE COMPANY ON THE OCCASION OF ITS 60th ANNIVERSARY WHEREAS, The Plains Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company will celebrate its 60th anniversary and commemorate this event with a banquet on April 17, 2010; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors wishes to thank past and present members of The Plains Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company for their distinguished, brave, unflinching, and selfless service over the past sixty years; and WHEREAS, the Fauquier County community has produced several generations of the very finest people who have given their time and energy in an effort to preserve life and property in our great County; and WHEREAS, the Board wishes to thank the founding members of The Plains Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company, some of whom are thankfully still with the company; and WHEREAS, in particular the Board wishes to thank George Beavers and Clay “Barney” Brittle, with 60 and 59 years of service respectfully; and WHEREAS, the Board wishes to honor all those deceased members who contributed and gave so much; and WHEREAS, the Board wishes to recognize those members who have achieved life member status by serving for twenty years or more and many in excess of thirty years; and WHEREAS, the Board wishes to thank the younger, rising generation of members and leaders for their dedication and service; now, therefore, be it PROCLAIMED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 8th day of April 2010, That the Board of Supervisors wishes to express its deepest appreciation to The Plains Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company on the occasion of commemorating 60 years of outstanding service.
