The work
session is an opportunity for staff to brief the Board of
Supervisors on the Comprehensive Plan amendment, which
proposes areas within the Bealeton Service District that are
appropriate for a mix of uses. Refinements added by the
Planning Commission will be highlighted.
The proposed amendment is subject to public hearing this
evening with the proposal details and map amendment included
in that portion of the agenda for Board reference.
Here it is noted that the Board of Supervisor also initiated
a related Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment - Mixed Use
Special District on November 8, 2007 and transmitted it to
the Planning Commission for review and recommendation. Even
though this proposed ordinance is not a subject of the
scheduled work session, staff wants the Board to be aware
that the Planning Commission unanimously recommended it be
approved at its May 29, 2008 meeting. Hence, the proposed
ordinance will be scheduled for Board of Supervisors public
hearing on July 10, 2008.
