Topic: 

A Resolution to Authorize the Agricultural Development Department to Submit an Application to the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) for a USDA Specialty Crop Grant

Topic Description:

Board of Supervisors approval is required by VDACS in order for the Agricultural Development Department to apply for USDA Specialty Crop Grant funds.  Grant funding is being requested to assist Fauquier County orchards in marketing to ethnic populations in northern Virginia.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

There are no financial impacts.  No county funds are being used for match; in-kind services will be provided by Agricultural Development Department staff.
