Topic: 

A Resolution to Authorize the Transfer of Funds Within the Capital Budget to Appropriate Funds for the Animal Shelter Intake Building

Topic Description:

At its regular meeting on September 11, 2008, the Board of Supervisors authorized a $400,000 donation to the Fauquier SPCA for the construction of an animal control intake facility.  This donation is in addition to $534,000 appropriated in FY 2007.  The Finance Committee voted unanimously at its October 2, 2008, meeting to recommend that the Board of Supervisors designate funding in the County Capital Construction Reserve for this purpose. 

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

The Capital Construction Reserve has a current balance of $3,350,668.  Appropriation of the $400,000 donation would reduce the balance to $2,950,668.
