The Pruning Road Show is a series of free public demonstrations on proper pruning of trees and shrubs taught by Virginia Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Volunteers and the Fauquier Horticulture Extension Agent. Every year homeowners have good intentions about trimming their trees and shrubs, but don’t realize the proper techniques involved with pruning. Back by popular demand, the Sixth Annual Lucky Shamrock 5K Run is a great way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and the arrival of spring! There are eleven divisions in both male and female age categories as follows: 14 & under; 15–18; 19–25; 26–30; 31–35; 36–40; 41–45; 46–50; 51–55; 56–60 and 61 & over. Awards will be presented to all 1st, 2nd and 3rd place division winners. Pre-register by March 1st and save $5. The pre-registration fee is $20. Race day registration begins at 9:00 a.m. and costs $25. Refreshments will be available beginning at 9:00 a.m. Pre-registered participants are guaranteed a special event t-shirt on race day.
