Public Schools

The Fauquier County Public School System has three high schools, five middle schools, eleven elementary schools and one alternative school, which combined, serve an enrollment of just over 11,000 students. The mission of the Fauquier County Public Schools is to cultivate the ability, intellect, and character of each student to ensure an educated citizenry.

Public Libraries

The Fauquier County Public Library system comprises three libraries, Bealeton, John Marshall and Warrenton. As of August, 2005, the library had 180,534 items in its collection, of which, nearly 83,000 are children's and young adult materials. Reference staff is available whenever the libraries are open and an online reference query form is accessible through the library's Web site 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All library locations provide public access to the Internet. The Bealeton and John Marshall libraries have public access to Microsoft word processing and spreadsheet software as well. Committed to fostering a love of reading and for lifelong learning, the library presents a variety of cultural, literary and entertainment opportunities for all ages year-round.


Private Schools

Providence Christian Academy is an independent Christian school conveniently located at Vint Hill, in Warrenton. Providence was founded in 2008 and is a member of VCPE and ACSI. We offer quality Christian education for children Pre-K3 through the twelfth grade. Providence uses the traditional teacher taught classroom with a low student to teacher ratio. We use Abeka and Bob Jones curriculum. Extra curricular activities include: PE, Music, Computers, and Spanish. For more information please call 540-349-4989.

Fresta Valley Christian School is an independent Christian school, founded in 1977, offering quality education from a Christian perspective with classes for children 3 years of age through the 12th grade. The school is conveniently located midway between Warrenton and Marshall.

Highland School- Located in Warrenton, Highland School founded in 1928, is the oldest independent school in Fauquier County. With approximately 540 students, Highland is a coeducational day school for students in Grades Pre-Kindergarten through Grade Twelve.

Midland Christian Academy is located at 10456 Old Carolina Road just off of Rte. 28 in Midland. The Academy serves children in preschool through sixth grade utilizing A-Beka and other supplemental curricula with a low student to teacher ratio. The preschool program is both social and academic in nature, and the elementary classes are introduced to Spanish, music, art and computer technology. Montessori School of Middleburg is located right off of Rt 50 at Atoka Road in Northern Fauquier County and is licensed by Fauquier County. Run by AMI trained professionals, the Montessori School of Middleburg adheres to the Association Montessori Internationale Philosophy. Mountainside Montessori School serves children from birth through age six. Located on seven beautiful acres near the village of Orlean, our teachers are fully trained by the Association Montessori Internationale, and we adhere to the highest standards of Montessori education. Saint James' Episcopal School (SJES) is a growing, independent school providing preschool starting at age two and a half, and Kindergarten through fourth grade. St. Johns the Evangelist Catholic School is located at 111 John E. Mann Street in historic Warrenton. Our school offers a challenging academic program for preschool through eighth grade that stimulates each child's intellectual curiosity and desire for life-long learning. St. John the Evangelist Catholic School provides a safe environment which encourages the development of self esteem and confidence along with spiritual growth. Wakefield School - Located in The Plains, Wakefield School is an independent, co-educational college preparatory day school for Pre-school through 12th grades. We provide a classical liberal arts education as well as athletics, fine and performing arts, and a wealth of extra-curricular activities all designed to prepare our students for college and beyond.
