Purpose

Responsibilities, Appointment, & Terms

A general real estate reassessment for Fauquier County is conducted every four years.  The Board of Assessors is only active during the period of the general reassessment.  As part of the reassessment process, five members are appointed to the Board of Assessors representing each magisterial district. Board of Assessor terms are limited to the completion and establishment of the values during a reassessment period.  The term for the last Board of Assessors ended December 31, 2013.
