Responsibilities, Appointment, & Terms
The Board of Equalization is active after the completion of the general reassessment of real estate in Fauquier County. The Board of Equalization is appointed by the Circuit Court after the completion of a reassessment. Members are made up of Fauquier County residents who are broadly representative of the community.
The 2018 Board of Equalization was appointed and sworn in March 15, 2018. The term for the last Board of Equalization ended August 31, 2018. Board of Equalization administrative meetings and hearings take place at the Fauquier County Reassessment Office, 98 Alexandria Pike, Suite 35, Warrenton, VA 20186.
Scheduling to appeal to the Board of Equalization begins March 26, 2018. The deadline to schedule an appeal to the Board of Equalization is June 21, 2018.
Applications to request to schedule an appeal to the Board of Equalization are available at Fauquier County libraries, at the Office of the Commission of the Revenue, and at the County Administration Information desk. Electronic copies of the application form and an online application are available on the Fauquier County Reassessment Office website. Applications and supporting documentation are filed with the Reassessment Office.
