The ARB will be the featured speakers at this Fauquier County Historic Roundtable meeting. They will discuss the following subjects:
• Expanding National Register Nomination opportunities throughout the County
• Lobbying the Virginia General Assembly to improve the State Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit (Currently, a historic property owner must spend at least 25% of the assessed value of the structure to qualify. In contrast, Maryland historic property owners qualify if their expenditures exceed $5,000.)
• The Fauquier County American Battlefield Protection Program (ABPP) Grant. (Fauquier County will develop a series of educational seminars and accompanying websites to inform local citizens and property owners about the County’s Civil War battlefields. Lectures will be scheduled Spring, 2008.)
• Organizing a subcommittee with other County historic organizations for a County historic plaque program.
At the end of this brief presentation Mr. Ed Dandar would like to present a 10 minute DVD on the Elk Run Church Project.
