The Opal Steering Committee has been tasked with reviewing the impacts of the VDOT interchange with expectations that access for all properties along this corridor will become limited. In addition, the Committee is expected to provide a final report that will:
a. Provide recommended changes to the proposed Land Use Plan and boundaries for the Opal Service District given investments being made to the US 15/29 and US 17 interchange and surrounding roadway network;
b. Present an overall road network, including road cross sections which will provide the County with a framework for streets within the Opal Service District that will guide growth;
c. Offer recommendations for the general vision and character of each use area including building setbacks, building height, density, parking, pedestrian amenities, landscaping, and buffers; and
d. Recommend Access Management Guidelines for the corridor.
