The Social Services Board is established pursuant to the Code of Virginia and is charged with providing advice and recommendations in all matters pertaining to public assistance and social services needed by citizens who are served by the Fauquier County Department of Social Services; to direct the activities of the local director; and to cooperate with all other agencies operating for the social betterment of the community. The Board seeks to help people who are overcome by adversity to secure strong futures for themselves, their families and communities.
