The Transportation Committee serves as an advisory body to the Board of Supervisors and other County Boards and Commissions on all transportation related matters. The committee assists in prioritizing the County’s transportation needs and makes recommendations in conjunction with updates to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Six-Year Plan for primary and secondary roads. The committee works to implement and further the County’s transportation element of the Comprehensive Plan. The committee works with the Public Safety Committee to make recommendations concerning public safety. The committee works to place the County’s transportation planning efforts within a regional context.
