National Trails Day 2018

Spend the Month of May Discovering Fauquier’s Trails!

Explore as many trails as you can during the month of May in celebration of National Trails Day. Get out and go for hike on a Fauquier Trail take a picture of yourself at one of the markers listed below on that trail and send it to parks@fauquiercounty.gov. Each picture you submit your name will be entered into a drawing to win great prizes from local businesses. If you visit John Marshall Birthplace Park you earn two entries into the prize drawing in celebration of the parks 40th Anniversary.

Then after all the hiking come out on Saturday, June 2nd to the Northern Fauquier Community Park’s Main Office Parking Lot from 10-12:00pm for a bike rodeo and the prize drawings.

Some of the prizes are two $25 gift cards to Gentle Harvest/Hunters Head Tavern, a $50 and $25 gift card to Red Truck Bakery, and a $50 gift card to Harry's Pub at Airlie; a meal for 4 to Firehouse Subs and a meal for 4 to Chipotle.

  • LFCC Connector Trail - Trail head kiosk

  • Silver Cup Trail - Wooden retaining wall

  • Stafford Trail - Trail head kiosk

  • Rady Park Connector - Stop sign at Bear Wallow Rd.

  • Warrenton Branch Greenway - One of the kiosks or Caboose

  • White’s Mill - One of the kiosks

  • Vint Hill Farms Park – Kiosk or On one of the bridges

  • Brookside Community Trails - One of the kiosks

  • Northern Fauquier Community Park - Parking lot kiosk or One of the bike racks

  • Four Season’s Nature Trail -  Trail Head Sign

**Rules and Regulations: Entries are open to all adults and children 8 years and older. Each photo emailed in must include Full Name, Phone Number, Name of Trail, and permission whether or not photo can be used for promotional reasons to be considered valid. Only one entry allowed per a trail except John Marshall Birthplace will be two entries. Only one prize allowed per a person. Do not need to be present on June 2nd to win.
