Topic: 

  A Resolution to Supplement the Salary Provided by the Virginia Compensation Board to the Fauquier County Sheriff by Ten Percent

Topic Description:

  The Virginia Compensation Board provides funding for the salary of the Fauquier County Sheriff in the amount of $75,162.  It has been customary for the Board of Supervisors to supplement this salary. Currently, all Fauquier County Constitutional Officers receive a supplement to the amount authorized by the State Compensation Board.  The Board has deemed it fair and reasonable to supplement the salary of the newly elected Sheriff by ten percent.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

  Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

There is no financial impact as the ten percent supplement is available in the Sheriff's Office existing budget.
