A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE A NON-BINDING LETTER OF INTENT WITH CEI AND/OR EUROPLASMA RELATING TO A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF THE COUNTY’S MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE STREAM AND THE CONDUCTING OF A WASTE TO ENERGY PROJECT FEASIBILITY STUDY ON BEHALF OF THE COUNTY AND EUROPLASMA
WHEREAS, CEI/Europlasma, a waste to energy company, has proposed to the County the potential of building a waste to energy plant which would handle up to 220 tons of daily municipal solid waste; and
WHEREAS, the County and CEI/Europlasma are interested in determining whether such a project is economically feasible for both the County and CEI/Europlasma; and
WHEREAS, such an economic feasibility study would require analysis of the County’s municipal solid waste stream and Europlasma’s use of all or a portion of that stream; and
WHEREAS, the parties wish to enter into a non-binding letter of intent indicating their interest in conducting this economic feasibility study; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 8th day of January 2009, That the County Administrator be, and is hereby, authorized to execute a non-binding letter of intent with CEI/ Europlasma related to comprehensive review of the County’s municipal solid waste stream and conducting of a waste to energy project feasibility study on behalf of the County and CEI/Europlasma.
