The Facilities Committee has
been reviewing a number of smaller improvement projects that
provide needed improvements. Previously the Board of
Supervisors has authorized the use of reserve funds for the
expansion of the animal shelter, $400,000, and for matching
funds to replace the Emergency 911 phone system, $145,000.
The Committee recommends that the following additional
projects be authorized:
Emergency
Operations Center - $80,000
This project will provide
for the installation of a generator at the Emergency
Operations center which is located at the Warrenton
Volunteer Fire Company EMS, Station 1, on Hospital Drive.
Funds cover the acquisition and installation of a generator,
minor site work, electrical connections, engineering
services, and a contingency.
Marshall
Community Center – ADA Access and Drainage Improvements -
$43,700
In the process of evaluating
the use of the basement in the community center annex for
use in conjunction with the Computer Clubhouse program, it
was determined that existing drainage and water infiltration
issues need to be addressed. Funds will provide for
drainage improvements, ADA access improvements, foundation
water proofing and a contingency. A future improvement
phase will address related issues at the main building.
In addition to these
projects:
Cost estimates are being
prepared to improve the evidence storage facility,
magistrate’s area and record storage at the Sheriff’s
Office.
