Staff Report:
On occasion
the Board of Supervisors has approved, by resolution, a
waiver of the fees associated with a land development
application made by a non-profit organization to the
County. In essence these transactions are a donation to the
non-profit organization without the bookkeeping effort of
taking the money in and re-donating it, which increases the
administrative cost of doing these waivers. The Board of
Supervisors requested that staff prepare this resolution in
order to delegate the approval authority for such waivers to
the County Administrator. The Board of Supervisors may wish
to consider placing an upper limit on the extent of the
delegated authority, with waivers over a certain dollar
amount continuing to require Board of Supervisors’
approval.
