A Resolution to Authorize an Agreement with Fauquier Habitat: Affordable Housing

Topic Description:

The Board of Supervisors previously approved an affordable housing initiative to help County employees purchase homes within the County.  Funding was initially allocated for five participants and four employees have participated in the First Time Homebuyers program that was offered by the County in conjunction with Virginia Housing Development Authority.  Funding for the development of the fifth home has been reserved to assist Fauquier Habitat in its work with a County Employee (a part-time employee).

It now appears that many of the problems associated with this final loan have been worked out.  An attachment provides additional information on the progress of the project.  It is requested that the Board authorize the County Attorney and the County Administrator to develop the appropriate agreements to assist Fauquier Habitat with this effort.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

Funds have been reserved within the Affordable Housing Fund for this project in the amount of $20,000.
