The policy was revised to treat part-time,
permanent employees working 20 or more hours per week, the same
as full-time, permanent employees in relation to holiday pay for
holidays that fall on a regularly scheduled work day. The
policy was also revised to correct verbiage relating to holiday
time granted when the designated holiday falls on an employee’s
scheduled day off. |

|
|
·
Regarding time granted to an employee when a
holiday falls on an employee’s scheduled day off, the term
“compensatory” has been changed to “floating holiday”
·
Paragraphs delimiting use of additional floating
holidays granted when a holiday falls on employee’s scheduled
day off were added |
|
·
The approved practice has been to grant floating
holidays to ensure all employees receive the same number of
holidays per year, even though they may not be observed on the
same day. This revision brings the verbiage in the policy into
compliance with the approved practice.
·
The additional paragraphs ensure the use of
floating holidays earned as a result of holidays granted when a
holiday falls on an employee’s scheduled day off is consistent
with use of floating holidays granted when holidays fall on
mandatory employee work days. |
|
·
The term “Eligible” has been removed from the
policy, as related to part-time, permanent employees working 20
or more hours per week
·
The phrase “have been employed for at least one
(1) year” in relation to part-time permanent employees who work
a minimum of 20 hours per week has been deleted from the policy |
|
·
The deletion removes the penalty of no holiday pay
for part-time, permanent employees who work a minimum of 20
hours per week, but have been employed less than one year,
granting them the same (pro-rated) holiday pay as full-time,
permanent employees, when a holiday falls on a regularly
scheduled work day |
