A Resolution to Authorize a Cooperative Agreement With the Piedmont Environmental Council to Co-hold Conservation Easements Obtained Using Cooperative Funding

Topic Description:

The Board of Supervisors is considering an application to acquire development rights on property owned by Still Waters Farm, L.L.C.  If the acquisition is authorized by the Board, the County and the Piedmont Environmental Council will each pay a portion of the cost of the purchased development rights, and will each be co-holders under the conservation easement which will be placed on the property.  As such, an agreement to define the relative responsibilities of the County and the Piedmont Environmental Council with respect to enforcement and inspection of the eased property is required.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

No financial impacts are anticipated as a consequence of the co-hold agreement.
