A Resolution to Amend the Land Lease Agreement with Midland Development Corporation for T-Hangars #1 and #2 at the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport

Topic Description:

The original land lease agreement for the development of T-Hangars limited the use of the property to the storage of light civilian aircraft.  In April 2005, the lease was modified to allow the development of air charter business operations within a T-Hangar.  With the continued growth of the Airport, the Airport Committee has received requests to allow the use of hangar space for other businesses such as specialized maintenance services and avionics.


Rather than bring each requested change to the Board of Supervisors for a required public hearing, the Airport Committee and staff have drafted guidelines for conducting business activities in hangar buildings and requests that the Board of Supervisors allow the Airport Committee and County Administrator the authority to approve businesses that are consistent with these guidelines.  Attached are the guidelines that have been approved by the Airport Committee and County staff.


Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Conduct a public hearing and consider adoption of attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

The expansion of small business opportunities at the Airport has the potential to increase County revenue.
