In accordance with Section
15.2-2511 of the Code of Virginia, an annual independent
audit of the Fauquier County Government and School Division
has been completed for FY 2004. This audit was conducted by
the independent certified public accounting firm of
Robinson, Farmer, and Cox Associates. The audit was
accomplished in accordance with generally accepted auditing
standards. A copy of this audit, the Comprehensive Annual
Financial Report (CAFR), was provided to Board of Supervisor
members on November 14, 2004, and made available on the
County Internet web page November 19, 2004.
In addition to the CAFR, the
auditors furnished written recommendations pertaining to the
improvement of certain areas of internal accounting control
and overall accounting procedures. Those recommendations and
the Finance Department’s
responses are attached.
A work session will allow
the auditors to provide a summary of their work and respond
to any questions the Board of Supervisors may have. |
