Topic:              A Resolution to Amend the Approved Budgetary Strategies Relating to Anticipated Fiscal Year 2003 and Fiscal Year 2004 State Revenue Reductions

On October 21, 2002 , the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors adopted budgetary strategies relating to anticipated Fiscal Year 2003 and Fiscal Year 2004 State revenue reductions.  Strategy #1 was as follows: 

“All permanent General Government positions becoming vacant require County Administration approval to be filled.”

It is recommended that sworn positions within the Sheriff’s Office and positions within the Warrenton-Fauquier Communications Center that perform dispatch duties be exempted from the vacancy approval process.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors:

Consider adoption of attached resolution.
