Topic               Household Hazardous Waste Programs

At the December 2002 work session of the Board of Supervisors, questions were raised regarding options to make the household hazardous waste collection at the Landfill more convenient for citizens.

The staff is working with the existing contractor to determine if it is possible to move our collection date from Tuesday to Saturday.  The existing contractor has currently committed his staff to Prince William County on Saturdays; however, we will be meeting to determine how we might offer some Saturday service.

Attached is a memo from the County Attorney that addresses the option of the County accepting hazardous wastes for a short time before transferring materials to the contractor.

Discuss possible revisions to the household hazardous waste program.
