PROCLAMATION

A PROCLAMATION TO HONOR R.E. “BOB” MOORE IN

RECOGNITION OF TWENTY-TWO YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED

SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF FAUQUIER COUNTY

            WHEREAS, R.E. “Bob” Moore has served the citizens of Virginia with distinction for forty-one years and, more particularly, the citizens of Fauquier County for twenty-two years; and

            WHEREAS, Mr. Moore began his career with the Virginia Department of Transportation in 1961 as an inspector in Prince William County ; and

            WHEREAS, Mr. Moore served as Assistant Resident Engineer in the Warrenton Residency Office on November 18, 1981 ; and

            WHEREAS, in September 1987, Mr. Moore became Resident Engineer where he served the citizens of Fauquier County until his recent promotion to District Maintenance Engineer in November 2002; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Moore has been instrumental in accomplishing many transportation projects to ensure safety for Fauquier County citizens, such as widening Shirley Avenue in Warrenton to resolve drainage problems and widening Route 29 to ease congestion at the traffic light at Route 605; and

            WHEREAS, Mr. Moore’s diligent work with the State Transportation Board to get Route 29 landscaped from the commuter parking lot into Warrenton has enhanced the beautification of Fauquier County ’s “Gateway to Warrenton”;    now, therefore, be it

            PROCLAIMED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 21st day of January 2003, That R.E. “Bob” Moore be, and is hereby, commended for his many years of service to the citizens of Fauquier County ; and, be it

            PROCLAIMED FURTHER, That the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors, on behalf of the citizens of Fauquier County , congratulates and extends best wishes to Bob Moore for success and happiness in his promotion to District Maintenance Engineer.
