Topic               A Resolution to Authorize Donation to the American Red Cross for Payment of the Solid Waste Tipping Fees and Land Development Fees Associated with the Disposal of the Remnants of the Fire Damaged Residential Structure Owned by the Patterson Family and the Reconstruction Thereof

On December 8, 2002 , the Patterson’s home was destroyed by fire.  On January 6, 2003 , Fauquier County received a letter, dated 12/17/02 , from the Fauquier County Chapter of the American Red Cross requesting assistance from the County Government .  The Patterson family is experiencing severe financial hardship making it extremely difficult for them to pay solid waste tipping fees required for the disposal of fire damaged remnants, as well as the land development fees relating to reconstruction.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors

Consider adoption of attached resolution.
