Topic:

A Resolution Directing the County Administrator to Schedule a Public Hearing on Proposed Amendments to Sections 2-17 and 2-17.1 of the Fauquier County Code Related to Parks and Recreation

Topic Description:

The attached amendments to Sections 2-17 and 2-17.1 of the Fauquier County Code would shift the emphasis of the Parks and Recreation Board away from the daily operation of the Department, place the Director of the department under the direct supervision of the County Administrator, broaden the authority of the Parks and Recreation Board to appoint advisory committees, and require the Parks and Recreation Board and Department of Parks and Recreation to follow the purchasing and financial policies of the County.

Request Action of the Board of Supervisors:

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
