An Ordinance Exempting the Real and Personal Property Owned by Hospice of Fauquier County, Inc., from Taxation


Topic Description:


Hospice of Fauquier County, Inc., has filed an application with the Board of Supervisors to have its real and personal property exempted from taxation.  The application was made pursuant to Section 8-53 of the Code of Fauquier County, and Section 58.1-3651 of the Code of Virginia.  The application process, as set forth in Virginia Code Section 58.1-3651.B, requires a public hearing by the Board of Supervisors prior to the consideration of any Ordinance exempting property from taxation.


Request Action of the Board of Supervisors:


Hold a public hearing and consider adoption of the attached Ordinance.


Financial Impacts analysis:


Annual loss of real and personal property tax revenue for the property exempted is estimated at $351.45 for tax year 2005.
