Topic: 

A Work Session with the Virginia Regional Transit Organization on the Organization’s Proposed Transit Development Plan Over the Next Six-Year Period for the Fauquier County Area

Topic Description:

Virginia Regional Transit (VRT)  is a non-profit organization which operates affordable community transportation services in fifteen counties in Virginia.  Within Fauquier County the VRT operates the Circuit Rider and an on demand bus service for County residents.  The VRT wishes to present a six-year plan to the Board of Supervisors including service recommendation and estimated costs to expand those services.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Conduct a  work session.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

There is no financial impact incurred by holding the work session.  If as a result of the work session the Board chooses to expand services, the estimated costs are included in the presentation and would need to have further negotiation for potential inclusion in the budget process.
