Topic: 

A Public Hearing to Solicit Public Input on Local Community Development Needs in Relation to Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding for a Project in the Community

 

Topic Description:

The Boys & Girls Club of Fauquier, Inc., has requested the County to submit a CDBG application on its behalf, requesting funding to renovate a building being purchased by the Boys & Girls Club to provide after-school activities for children from primarily low-income to moderate-income families.

CDBG regulations require two public hearings to be held; this is the first of the two.  The purpose of the first public hearing is to receive general comments on local community development and housing needs in relation to Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for a project in our community. 

A second public hearing will be scheduled for the March Board of Supervisors meeting to receive project-specific comments from the public. 

 

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Conduct a public hearing.
