PROCLAMATION

 

A PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING L. THOMAS GREENE FOR HIS OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF FAUQUIER COUNTY UPON HIS DEPARTURE FROM THE JOHN MARSHALL SOIL & WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT

 

WHEREAS, L. Thomas Greene has provided seventeen years of dedicated volunteer service as a John Marshall Soil & Water Conservation District Director; and

 

WHEREAS, L. Thomas Greene served eight years as Chairman of the John Marshall Soil & Water Conservation District providing leadership for the conservation movement in Fauquier County and throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia; and

 

WHEREAS, L. Thomas Greene was instrumental in the development of an Erosion & Sediment Control Program Memorandum of Understanding between the Board of Supervisors, the Department of Community Development, and the John Marshall Soil & Water Conservation District, in which the District has been conducting inspections and plan review for Fauquier County over the past ten years; and

 

WHEREAS, L. Thomas Greene provided leadership to the John Marshall Soil & Water Conservation District in developing and implementing personnel policies; and

 

WHEREAS, L. Thomas Greene was instrumental in the development of the John Marshall Soil & Water Conservation Districtís Conservation Field Day Program for seventh grade students; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors wishes to recognize and commend L. Thomas Greene for his outstanding conservation service to the citizens of Fauquier County; now therefore, be it

 

PROCLAIMED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 17th day of February 2004, That L. Thomas Greene be, and is hereby, recognized and commended for his outstanding leadership and service to conservation efforts and to the citizens of Fauquier County; and be it

 

PROCLAIMED FURTHER, that the Board of Supervisors does hereby extend its best wishes to L. Thomas Greene in all future endeavors.
