This proposed text amendment would clarify the
Zoning Ordinance’s definition of an inoperable vehicle, and make
enforcement of the County’s regulations against the excessive
number of such vehicles more effective.
The current
definition states a “…vehicle, trailer or semi-trailer is
‘presumed’ to be an inoperable vehicle if the license plate
and/or required inspection sticker is expired.”
The proposed text amendment would change “presumed” to
“considered” to
strengthen the language. The
amended definition also would insert language found in the
enabling legislation contained in the Code of Virginia.
The revised wording of the proposed definition is
underlined and contained in Attachment 1.
The Planning
Commission held a public hearing on
January 23, 2003
and forwarded this text amendment with a recommendation for
approval.
