WHEREAS, on April 1, 1922, Willis P. Risdon was born to the late William Henry Risdon and Virginia Payne Risdon; and

            WHEREAS, Willis P. Risdon served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty years and served as a reservist for eight years, retiring with the rank of Major; and

            WHEREAS, Willis P. Risdon served the citizens of Fauquier County as a local government employee for over twenty years, first as Chief Building Inspector and later as Director of General Services; and

            WHEREAS, Willis P. Risdon also generously devoted his time and efforts as a member of the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport Board, the Armory Board, and the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board; and

            WHEREAS, Willis P. Risdon is survived by his beloved wife Judy, one son Will, three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; and

            WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors wishes to recognize and honor Willis P. Risdon for his extraordinary life and his numerous significant contributions to the community; now, therefore, be it

PROCLAIMED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 8th day of March 2007, That Willis P. Risdon be, and is hereby, recognized and commended; and, be it

            PROCLAIMED FURTHER, That the Board of Supervisors wishes to extend its deepest gratitude and condolences to the surviving family of Willis P. Risdon.
