Topic Description:

Pursuant to Section 33.1-70.01 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, a joint public hearing was be held with the Board of Supervisors and Resident Administrator for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to receive public comment on the proposed Secondary System Construction Program for Fiscal Years 2007-2008 through Fiscal Years 2012-2013.  Copies of the proposed program and budget may be reviewed at the Warrenton Residency Office of the Virginia Department of Transportation, located at 457 East Shirley Avenue, Warrenton, Virginia.  A summary of the projects is located at Attachment 1.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors:

Consider adoption of the attached resolution

On January 11, 2007, the Board of Supervisors held a public hearing on the proposed Six-Year Plan, and on February 8, 2007, the Board conducted a work session with Dave Cubbage on the proposed priority list.  At the Board’s request, Wilson Road (Route 738) and Cannonball Gate Road (Route 690) have been given a priority ranking of zero (0) on the Plan as these projects are being finalized and closed out.  Therefore, the resolution prepared by VDOT does not include these items in the priority list.

Transportation Committee Recommendation:

On October 18, 2006, the Transportation Committee unanimously recommended approval of the Secondary Road Six Year Plan and Budget as presented to the Board at the January public hearing.

Financial Impact Analysis:

VDOT has submitted estimated program allocations and a budget for the Secondary System
