A Resolution to Accept the
Disability Services Board’s Needs Assessment
|

Topic Description:
The Code of Virginia
mandates several duties of local Disability Services
Boards. One of these duties is to conduct and develop a
Needs Assessment Report to identify and address the needs
and priorities of citizens with physical and/or sensory
disabilities. This Report will be filed with the
Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Rehabilitative
Services, Office of Disability Services Boards. Copies of
the Report will be distributed to public libraries and other
related agencies to fulfill the mandate.
The Disability Services
Board members have unanimously recommended endorsement of
the attached 2005-2006
Needs Assessment Report. The Disability Services
Board recommends that the Board of Supervisors endorse the
2005-2006 Needs Assessment Report and direct staff to
distribute copies to libraries and related agencies.
