A Work Session to Discuss the Proposed New Baltimore Branch Library

Topic Description:

The adopted FY 2006–FY 2015 Capital Improvement Plan contains funding for a 20,000 square foot New Baltimore branch library, located on a five-acre site adjoining the newly built Auburn Middle School.  Funds for the project design were approved for FY 2006; construction is scheduled for FY 2008-FY 2009.  At its retreat in January 2006, the Board of Supervisors discussed scaling back the proposed square footage of the library. The Library Board would like to provide the Board of Supervisors with an update of the New Baltimore project and discuss the size of the proposed library.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors:

Conduct a work session.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

The size of the proposed New Baltimore branch library will have an impact on the amount to be spent for both design services and the construction of the facility.
