Description:
On May 20,
2002, the Board of Supervisors approved both a resolution to
amend the Comprehensive Plan (CPA02-S-05) for the New
Baltimore Service District and a resolution to approve
Special Exceptions SE02-S-13 and SE02-S-14 for the Suffield
Meadows development. The Special Exceptions pertain to
establishing a continuing care facility in the Rural
Agricultural (RA) zoning district (Category 6, Institutional
Uses) and for a private sewerage system (Category 20, Public
Utilities). Both Special Exceptions were approved subject
to a series of development conditions. Condition 4 reads as
follows:
The Special Exception shall expire and be null and void
unless a Certificate of Occupancy for the first occupied
unit or building is issued within three (3) years of the
date of approval for the Special Exception, or a Board of
Supervisors extension is approved.
Pursuant to the approved Special Exception Condition 4, the
Applicant is now requesting a one (1) year extension from
the Board of Supervisors. The Applicant has diligently
pursued (1) the development of the continuing care facility;
(2) the permitting of the package treatment facility for WSA
ownership and maintenance; and (3) is currently doing site
work on the property; however, a Certificate of Occupancy
will not be issued by May 20, 2005.
