Topic:
A Resolution Authorizing the
County Administrator to Execute a Memorandum of Understanding
Between Fauquier County and Commonwealth Link to Interoperable
Communications (COMLINC)
|
|
Topic Description:
This agreement will provide
access to COMLINC that allows the use of the internet for radio
communications with the State or other localities. It will
extend Fauquier County’s range to communicate with the
Department of Virginia State Police and other agencies such as
the National Guard beyond what is now available. It provides
another way to link up to adjoining counties that are not on an
800 Mghz radio system or with other localities on the 800 Mghz
band that are out-of-range of our system.

Requested Action of the Board
of Supervisors: |
|
Consider adoption of the
attached resolution. |
|
Financial Impacts Analysis: |
|
There is no cost to the County
for the equipment to be utilized to allow this communication
link, but Fauquier County will be providing access to our
communication equipment and facilities to support this
interoperability enhancement.
