Topic: 

A Resolution Accepting the Award of Grant Funding from the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Transportation Enhancement Program for Woods at Warrenton Trail

 

 

Topic Description:

In November 2008, the Parks and Recreation Department submitted a grant application for $209,000 for funding Phase II, the design and construction of approximately 0.7 miles of multipurpose trail at the Woods of Warrenton Subdivision to connect the existing White’s Mill trail to the Warrenton Chase Trail.  The funding source is through the Commonwealth Transportation Board’s Transportation Enhancement Program. The amount awarded was $90,000 which is being added to a previous TEA award of $60,000 for design.  Total estimated project cost is $514,000 of which preliminary engineer estimated project cost is $98,580; estimated construction costs is $416,000. These funds will be used to develop as much of the trail as possible.

As per County policy all grants must be formally accepted by the Board of Supervisors.

 

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
