PROCLAMATION

A PROCLAMATION DECLARING MARCH 20, 2010 AS AGRICULTURE DAY AND
 MARCH 14 THROUGH MARCH 20, 2010 AS AGRICULTURE WEEK
 IN FAUQUIER COUNTY

            WHEREAS, the Agricultural Council of America has declared March 20, 2010, as Agriculture Day and March 14 through 20, 2010 as Agriculture Week; and

            WHEREAS, Agriculture Day and Week are times to recognize and celebrate the abundance provided by agriculture; and

            WHEREAS, every year, producers, agricultural associations, corporations, universities, government agencies and countless others across American join to recognize the contributions of agriculture; and

            WHEREAS, Agriculture Day and Week are a time to understand how food and fiber products are produced; and

            WHEREAS, this is also a time to understand and appreciate the essential role of agriculture in maintaining a strong economy; and

            WHEREAS, this is also a time to value the role of agriculture in providing safe, abundant and affordable products; and

            WHEREAS, this is also the time for Fauquier County to acknowledge the significant role that agriculture plays in its history, culture and economy; now, therefore, be it

            PROCLAIMED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 11th day of March 2010, That March 20, 2010 be, and is hereby, recognized as Agriculture Day; and, be it

            PROCLAIMED FURTHER, That March 14 through 20, 2010 be, and is hereby, recognized as Agriculture Week.
