This month staff will brief
the Board of Supervisors on the historic background of the
connector, identify technical information sources used in
the plan update and explain the amendment process which was
followed. The latter process includes Town of Warrenton
involvement, Transportation Committee recommendations, and
the Planning Commission community meeting.
This effort started on
January 10, 2008 when the Board, by resolution, directed the
Department to work with the Town of Warrenton on the
development of an integrated transportation plan and other
matters of joint planning and development. A more detailed
effort then commenced with the July 9, 2009 Board resolution
that directed the Planning Commission to consider
recommendations from the Transportation Committee, review
and refine the draft Amendment to the Warrenton Service
District Plan, submitted as part of the Route 211 – Route
17 Connector Corridor Technical Planning Study, conduct
public hearing(s), and provide recommendations to the Board
of Supervisors.
On April 8, 2010, the second
work session will be conducted on the actual details of the
Warrenton Service District Plan Amendment (CPAM10 – MA –
001) forwarded by the Planning Commission with a
recommendation that it be adopted. The public hearing for
the amendment is also scheduled for that same day.
