A Resolution Authorizing the Use of the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Awarded to the Sheriff’s Office

Topic Description:

This agenda item requests Board approval of the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) awarded by the Office of Justice Programs (OJP).

Fauquier County  has been allocated $11,982.00 in grant funds to be used for Law Enforcement purposes. The Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office has requested for these funds to be spent towards improving patrol functions. It is a grant requirement that the local government applying for the award to make the grant application available for review to the governing body and the public.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

There are no financial impacts and no match required by the County.
