A Resolution Directing the County Administrator to Schedule a Public Hearing to Consider a Lease Agreement with FISH, Inc. for Property Located at 24 Pelham Street

Topic Description:

For some time now the staff has considered a variety of locations to house an improved evidence storage facility.  Options considered were improving space at the Buildings and Grounds complex at General Services, locating a pre-cast concrete structure at 78 Lee Street, leasing space and converting a portion of the Old Laundry building for evidence storage.  The use of the Old Laundry building has been recommended as the preferred alternative by the Board Facilities Committee.

The space to be utilized is currently occupied by the non-profit group FISH and used to distribute food and provide other services to those in need.  It is proposed to relocated the FISH program to the Modular unit just outside the Co-operative Extension Office.

In order to lease this property to FISH a public hearing is required.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
