An Ordinance to Classify Real and Personal Property Owned by the Claude McDonald Foundation, Inc. Exempt From Taxation

Topic Description:

Claude McDonald Foundation, Inc. has requested that its property be declared exempt from taxation.  Prior to adopting an ordinance which declares the property of a charity exempt from taxation, the Board must conduct a public hearing.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Conduct the public hearing and consider adoption of the attached Ordinance.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

The property has historically been exempt from taxation.  The fiscal impact of this action based upon the current assessment and tax rate would be approximately $7,084 per year should the exemption request not be granted.
