Proposed Amendment to Chapter 13, Article IV,Section 13-51
of the Code of Fauquier County pertaining to Exceptions to
the Vehicle Registration Fee Permitting the Current
Exception to Include Officers of the State Police to Include
Residents Who Are Assigned Outside the County

Topic Description:
The current
ordinance as adopted on December 14, 2006 and amended on
July 12, 2007 provides for several exceptions to the
registration fee.
Among them is an exception
for law enforcement provided the applicant lives and works
in Fauquier County. This amendment expands that exception
for officers of the state police to include officers that
live in the county and are stationed outside the county.
The proposed effective date for this amendment is January 1,
2008.

It is unknown how many
officers fall in this category however it is most likely
less than 25 persons therefore the impact is estimated to be
