The Vint Hill Sewage Treatment
Plant, which services the New Baltimore Service District and
Vint Hill, currently has a permitted capacity of 600,000
gallons per day. The current permit includes authorization
to expand the plant to 950,000 gallons per day. The
Comprehensive Plan for the New Baltimore Service District
assumes that the plant will be expanded to 950,000 gallons
per day capacity. According to new Department of
Environmental Quality regulations, a plant expansion must
receive a Certificate to Operate by December 31, 2010. On
February 24, 2009, the Board adopted a resolution
guaranteeing payment of up to $6,062,130 to the Fauquier
County Water and Sanitation Authority to fund the cost to
expand the Vint Hill Sewage Treatment Plant to the 950,000
gallons per day capacity. The attached resolution
authorizes the County Administrator to enter into a Funding
Agreement related to construction of the Vint Hill Sewage
Treatment Plant expansion.
